Braintree: Marcel Lucont to entertain Arts Theatre
6:00pm Wednesday 30th October 2013 in News
Ooh La La, whose this bringing some gallic charm to Braintree.
Marcel Lucont is the comic creation of actor and comedian Alexis Dubus, who since 2009 has been gracing comedy clubs up and down the UK as well as being a smash hit at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Star of BBC’s Russell Howard’s Good News and Live at the Electric, Marcel is now on his first big national tour, which comes to the Braintree Arts Theatre, Braintree, next week.
Winner of both best comedy show categories at this year’s Fringe World Festival in Perth, Australia, and last year’s Amused Moose Laughter Awards, the suave, witty and utterly irresistible Frenchman has proved to be a cult hit worldwide, performing critically-acclaimed sell-out shows at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and New Zealand Comedy Festival, among many others.
This, his first UK tour, is a compilation of his best material, as well as some new gems thrown in for good measure.
For those who haven’t seen him, the debonair misanthrope delivers slick comedy through salacious poetry and songs with an acerbic Francophile waggishness, a laconic disdain for the British and a turtleneck jumper.
Gallic Symbol is at the Braintree Arts Theatre, Notley Road, Braintree, tomorrow Thursday 31 at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £12, £10 for concessions, available from the box office on 01376 556354.
