Halstead: Lack of resources to care for growing elderly population
9:00am Monday 21st October 2013 in News
There are not enough resources to deal with growing healthcare needs in the Halstead area, councillors fear.
In last week’s Gazette it was revealed the over-65 population of Braintree district is set to increase by a third in the next eight years.
A report outlining recommended improvements to health and social care in Essex was debated at a Braintree Council meeting last Monday evening.
Hedingham and Maplestead councillor Jo Beavis, cabinet member for people, said: “There is too much to do and too little resources available to us so from now on we must work in partnership."
