Preparations are already under way for this year’s Guy Fawkes trail which will be held on Sunday November 3 between 10am and 3pm.
In the past four years organisations such as the WI, Halstead Art Group, Halstead-in-Bloom and the Brownies and Guides have taken part in the event.
Organiser Wendy Pickess said: “Some local groups have already signed up and are making a Guy to display in the park – all in various guises.
“However, to make a really impressive display it would be fantastic if as many Halstead residents, groups and clubs as possible could take part and make a real spectacle.
“You can give your Guy a character, such as reading the paper, fishing, bird spotting and so on, and then place him in situ in the park.
“I really hope you will join me in making this a real success for Halstead.”
All Guys need to be labelled with the name of the creator so they can receive a certificate of entry.
Children will also be given a sticker and lollipop.
