Halstead: Football club still needs money to secure village return
9:00am Wednesday 16th October 2013 in News
A football club is still in need of funding to achieve its aim of finally returning to its home village.
Colne Engaine Football Club has been unable to play matches at its Burches Meadow ground, in Pebmarsh Road, because its old facilities did not meet league standards.
A new pavilion has been built on the site, but the club needs more money to furnish the inside of the building.
Club secretary Richard King said: “The building is finished and it looks great, but unfortunately it is not fitted out.
“The groundwork cost a lot more than expected because we had to go a lot deeper.”
