Halstead: Man rebailed over house fire as investigations continue
3:00pm Thursday 10th October 2013 in News
A man arrested on suspicion of arson following a house fire in Halstead has been rebailed.
Detectives are still trying to piece together how the blaze was started at the home of Glenda Soames and her four children in Mitchell Avenue on July 19.
Mrs Soames and her family were asleep when the fire started in the front garden of the home and spread to the front of the house, causing one of the windows to explode and another to crack.
Half of the house filled with smoke and damaged furniture, clothing, decor and other belongings.
A few hours after the fire, a 43-year-old Halstead man was arrested by police on suspicion of arson and later released on bail.
He has now been rebailed until December 2.
