Halstead: Almost £10,000 of fuel stolen from ambulance station
2:53pm Friday 20th September 2013 in News
Almost £10,000 of diesel was stolen from Halstead Ambulance Station.
The thieves struck at the Colchester Road base on two separate occassions and stole more than 6,000 litres in total.
Rob Ashford, East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) Sector Lead for Essex, said: “This is an absolutely appalling incident and it’s shocking to think that people would be willing to steal from an organisation that is saving lives and helping people on a daily basis.
“The Trust is currently working to redirect money into its frontline so as to improve our emergency response; to think that someone is willing to steal something of such value from such a vital service is atrocious.”
No arrests have been made.
Anyone with information is asked to call Halstead Police Station on 101.
