Halstead: Elderly residents concerned by rehab clinic proposal
11:00am Monday 16th September 2013 in News
Elderly residents living next to a proposed alcohol and drug rehabilitation centre have voiced their concerns about the proposed development.
Halstead Lodge is separated from the Courtauld Homes of Rest, in Hedingham Road, by a wall.
Barry Pilgrim, 76, who has lived in Hedingham Road for 12 years, said: “It is not suitable for that. It is all old people living here and I don’t think it is a good idea.
“We fear vandalism and break-ins because the wall is so low - we have had sheds broken into.
“If it is approved and they are going to be supervised that might be better.”
