Halstead: Florida Coaches here to stay
1:00pm Friday 13th September 2013 in News
A long established Halstead coach company has pledged to remain trading in the town for many more years to come.
Florida Coaches, which was set up in 1974, has rubbished rumours that it is being taken over.
It is believed the mix up stemmed from its school routes and four Florida staff, to help operate them, being taken on by Flagfinders and the Hoppa service going to Turners of Essex.
Following a tough year due to staff illness Florida will continue its coach and taxi service and pledged that it would be “business as usual.”
It hopes to expand in the new year.
Owner Patrick Keeble said: “We believe both Flagfinders and Turners will do an excellent job running the services we have successfully built up.”
Lisa Whellem, of Florida Coaches, added that a priority had been to ensure the right companies were found for the services.
She pledged to be on hand to help any parents during the changes.
