An improving primary school has been praised for its good results.
Tim Coulson, Essex County Council’s director of education and learning, wrote to Richard de Clare Primary School about its SATS results and good performance against new Early Years Profile assessments for the reception year group.
The Parsonage Street school had been told it “required improvement” in its latest Ofsted report in June.
Headteacher Sarah Donnelly said: “We are very pleased by the letter. The Ofsted report disappointed everybody, but we’re on the right track now and this letter has confirmed that we can achieve more.
“There have been lots of changes come into place in the last year in terms of how we monitor and report on the children’s progress and lots of new training for our staff.
“This shows that it is all starting to pay off and is a really great reflection on the hard work by our staff and children.
“We’re very proud of everybody and the fact that we have received this recognition as we’re aware that we are require improvement.”
