The winners of a new photography prize will be announced at a horticultural show this weekend.
The Halstead Horticultural Society’s Early Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Show takes place at the Queen’s Hall, on Chipping Hill, on Sunday.
For the first time this year, visitors will be able to view an exhibition of photographs entered in the competition, as well as displays of prize-winning flowers and vegetables.
Secretary Jayne Castle said: “We are very excited about the introduction of the photography competition.
“All of the photographs will have flowers as a theme, which we think will really complement the displays of flowers and vegetables in our other prize categories.
“Any fans of Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood’s Great British Bake Off, which started last week on BBC2, will enjoy the displays of cakes, pastries and tarts in our domestic classes.”
The show opens its doors at 2pm on Sunday.
