Halstead: Village picnic back on the green
5:00pm Sunday 25th August 2013 in News
It's time to get your hampers packed and your picnic blankets at the ready because the Earls Colne Village Picnic is back after a year off.
The village picnic, held on the Millennium Green in Earls Colne, will be taken over by a range of stalls, activities and entertainment on Sunday September 1.
As well as getting the village together for a group picnic, activities held on the green will include face painting, free donkey rides, henna tattoos, and a Welly Wanging competition.
A Grand Raffle, with a selection of prizes including a first prize of £100, will also be held with tickets costing 50p each, with proceeds going towards supporting the upkeep of the green.
The draw will take place at 3.30pm during the picnic, which will open at 1.30pm until 4pm.
Free parking will be available on the day at Colne Stoves on Halstead Road, opposite the green.
