EAST NEWS.
THE aunt of a schoolgirl who died after an accident during a PE lesson has paid tribute to her.
Trevyn Joslin, 12, suffered head injuries after landing head first as she tried to leap over a pommel horse during the lesson.
The Year Eight pupil died after spending a week in hospital.
Aunt Sara Joslin, 40, of Thomas Bell Road, in Earls Colne, paid tribute to Trevyn.
“She was just an absolute angel and what has happened is so tragic for her mum and dad.
“She was just a normal girl who loved being with her friends and also spending time with my girls who are her cousins.
“My daughters have found it really hard to cope with and it has not really sunk in yet.”
She added: “Nothing can prepare you for that - seeing her lying there was so hard and the doctors had warned she was not going to pull through.”
It is believed Trevyn, a pupil at Taverham High School, near Norwich, caught her foot and was knocked unconscious when she fell on March 12.
She died on Tuesday.
She was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for assessment before going to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge.
In a statement, school headteacher Ron Munson said: “Everybody is deeply saddened, and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this terribly difficult time.
“She was a sunny girl and a bright student who worked hard, played a full part in our school community and could often be seen around the school, getting involved in whatever was going on, and always smiling.”
