A police inspector who followed in his father’s footsteps has retired after 30 years serving in the county.

Paul Davey, 52, who was brought up in Halstead, has served as the town’s inspector for the last year.

Although Mr Davey started his policing career in London’s West End, he has worked in Essex since 1983.
