Halstead: Novel charity approach pays off Halstead: Novel charity approach pays off

CHARITY shop staff are taking a novel approach in appealing for donations.

The East Anglian’s Children’s Hospices shop, in High Street, Halstead, launched its appeal last week by putting naked manikins in the front window.

Only signs saying ‘help dress us’, ‘clothes needed’ and ‘clear out your wardrobes’ covering up the manikins’ modesty.

Bradley Till, store manager, said: “It was pure madness behind the idea.

“We thought if we put them in, it might catch people’s attention and it certainly has.

“Since we started, we have seen a real increase in donations, so it has really got things moving.”

The manikins are set to come down on Monday.
