Braintree district: Slight drop in unemployment
Unemployment in Braintree district has dropped slightly, going against the overall national trend.
A total of 2,673 people in the district claimed Jobseekers’ Allowance last month, compared to 2,691 in January.
The unemployment rate of 2.9% continues to be better than the national average of 3.9%.
Young jobseekers continue to suffer most, with a 6.7% rate of unemployment last month for those aged 18 to 24 in Braintree district.
