Halstead: Fundraising efforts in memory of much-loved shop owner
A mum is stepping up her fundraising efforts ahead of taking on the London Marathon next month.
Sophie Hyde, of Church Street, Sible Hedingham, is running the marathon for Macmillan Cancer Research.
She is taking on the challenge in memory of Chris Darkins, the co-owner of Darkins Supply Stores, in Swan Street, Sible Hedingham.
The fundraising continues tomorrow evening as Sophie hosts a charity 1980s disco at Scenarios, in Trinity Street, Halstead, from 8pm until midnight.
Tickets are £10 each, with all proceeds going to Macmillan. Call Sophie on 07943 804056.
