Halstead: Escape from the castle charity challenge
Captives will have just three hours to raise £500 to secure their release from Hedingham Castle.
Action for Children is looking for volunteers to take part in the fundraising challenge where the captives will be given a phone and a laptop to help convince a list of contacts, colleagues and friends to donate to help secure their release.
It is hoped they can raise at least £500 between 10am and 1pm on March 20 to help the charity’s work with vulnerable and neglected children.
Lyndsay Wood, Action for Children’s community fundraiser for Essex and Suffolk, said: “Captured at Hedingham Castle will be a fantastic day and we would love to hear from people interested in taking part.
“It’s a chance for local businesses and others in the community to raise vital funds for vulnerable children and young people, while networking in an atmospheric historic setting.”
After the escape, the volunteers will be joined for lunch by a number of guests, including the High Sheriff of Essex, Christopher Palmer-Tomkinson.
