Ramsey College is set to undergo a £1million refurbishment.

The school was awarded the cash by Essex County Council to replace windows, revamp cladding and fix leaking roofs.

The work is set to begin shortly and should be finished for the start of the September term.

The county council hopes it will improve the safety of the buildings and provide much needed environmental improvements.

Essex County Councillor Stephen Castle, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Education said: “I am delighted to announce the funding to Ramsey College. We are aware that there are a number of priority areas to the College’s buildings and the funding will address these. We are committed to the future of Ramsey College and such improvements ensure that all pupils are learning in a safe and comfortable environment.”
