Staff are “over the moon” with their first Ofsted report after moving to a new home.

The Park Preschool in Morton Way, Halstead, which opened on September 4, was graded good by the inspectors that visited early in February.

The preschool had previously been based in the Senior Citizens’ Centre in New Street, Halstead, but was forced to relocate after Braintree Council announced the closure of the site.

Co-owner Heidi Kennedy opened the Morton Way preschool, along with her husband, but was keen to retain the name of the business.

She said: “We are over the moon.

“It has been a lot of hard work but the staff have been brilliant.

“It has been a really tough six months, and the 20 months leading up to the move, trying to get everything sorted, has been really hard but now we are done.

“A lot of people have helped and supported us, including parents, friends and family and lot of outside professionals.”

The team are now aiming for an outstanding grade in their next inspection.
