Enjoy hit music and have a dance as two bands re-live the songs of the sixties.

The Rock Around The Sixties show comes to Halstead’s Empire Theatre this weekend.

The concert will be headlined by the New Honeycombs, who evolved as a continuation of the 1960s chart toppers The Honeycombs.

The present line-up are fully aware of the traditions of the band, having each worked with one of the founder members during their musical careers.

Today’s line-up comprises of lead vocalist Angela Rose, guitarist John Quinn, bass player Jeff Mallin and drummer Paul Bonner.

Hit songs from the Honeycombs, such as Have I The Right and That’s The Way, will be performed, along with other well-known sixties classics from the likes of Dusty Springfield and The Shirelles.

The New Honeycombs will be joined at the Empire by Walk Right Back, the sensational tribute to the music of the Everly Brothers.

While the band are not billed as lookalikes, members Alan and Stuart have an uncanny resemblance as they recreate the haunting vocal harmonies of the brothers.

Rock Around The Sixties comes to the Empire Theatre, in Butler Road, Halstead, on Sunday.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets are £13.50 each.
