Halstead: Tributes to former paramedic Marion

Marion Lunn Marion Lunn

A former paramedic whose kindness touched many people has died.

Marion Lunn, 59, was remembered by her mother, Mary Potter, as a “collector of lost causes” who would always help those in need.

She died on February 8 at Colchester Hospital as a result of septicaemia and secondary bowel cancer.

As a paramedic, Marion, of Parker Way, Halstead, risked her own health to try and save a patient with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, not knowing they had meningitis.

Sadly the patient later died and Marion contracted ME and viral meningitis, which led to her being medically retired.

However, she remained a first aider at community events and was a leader at Halstead Army Cadets.

Her funeral is at Three Counties Crematorium, High Garrett, tomorrow.
