The operator of a travelling children’s fun park believes children will miss out if he is not allowed to return to Halstead this year.

John Carey brings his fun fair to Halstead Public Gardens, in Trinity Street, twice a year.

But he claims Braintree Council is preventing him from coming this year because of a handful of complaints.

Mr Carey said: “They have said they don’t want us to go in there - I don’t understand what we have done.

“We open at 12noon and shut at 6pm and we don’t play loud music.

“It is a cheap day out and we run this for the children.”

A Braintree Council spokesman said: “We are still in discussion with Mr Carey to find a solution.”
