Halstead: Mum praises heroic children after she is hit by car
A mum narrowly escaped death as a car struck her empty pram- which her three-year-old son had been in moments before.
Paula Cavender, who suffered severe whiplash and bruising, was helped to safety by her eight-year-old daughter Amber after the collision with a Ford Focus.
Thankfully the pushchair was empty because Jaiden, three, a pupil at Little Angels Pre-School in Halstead, had insisted on walking instead.
Paula, 37, said: “I am just glad to be alive. I don’t think I would have been here if it wasn’t for the empty pushchair."
