Halstead: Crime on the decline in town
Crime in Halstead fell in December, according to the latest police statistics.
During the course of the month, there were 63 crimes reported to Essex Police in the Halstead town area - the exact same number recorded a year earlier in December 2011.
The figure, the latest available from the police.uk website, compared with 78 in November.
Antisocial behaviour, burglaries, shoplifting and vehicle crime all fell, while drug offences and violent crime actually went up.
