Residents have welcomed plans to take down electricity pylons and restore a woodland. 

National Grid will put an acre-sized cable sealing end compound west of Alphamstone, meaning three large pylons can be taken down and part of a county woodland reinstated.

The equipment is needed as part of the Bramford to Twinstead Tee connection project, a plan to upgrade the electricity power supply for the east of England.
