Halstead: Tesco tight-lipped after plans thrown out
Tesco has refused to reveal its next move in its ten year quest to move into Halstead.
After plans for a new store on land to the east of High Street were thrown out by Braintree Council, campaigners said they they fully expected the supermarket chain to appeal , but Tesco would not be drawn on its intentions.
A spokesman said: “We have worked really hard developing plans for this site so naturally we are really disappointed by the committee’s decision.
“We have remained committed to Halstead for many years and we will now have to carefully consider our options.”
