Learn about the history of British railways at a new ten-week course starting on Tuesday.

Halstead WEA is running the course, entitled Railways: Men, Money and Power, at the United Reformed Church, Kings Road, Halstead, starting at 7.40pm.

Tutor Roger Mannion will look at the political, engineering and financial implication of railways from birth to nationalisation.

All are welcome and no previous experience is necessary. The course costs £45 for ten sessions, payable on the second night.
