Halstead: Senior Citizen's Centre set to be demolished on Monday
Work to demolish Halstead’s Senior Citizen’s Centre is set to begin on Monday.
The demolition of the New Street Centre is expected to take three weeks and a temporary fence will be put up around the site to protect nearby tree roots.
The land will be part of Braintree Council’s consultation for the Local Development Framework Site Allocations and Development Management Plan which earmarks sites for housing.
More than 10 houses are set to be built on the New Street plot.
