Braintree: Homeless couple forced to live in tent

Halstead Gazette: Sharon Jameson Sharon Jameson

A couple have been living in a tent for three weeks because they cannot find a home.

Sharon Jameson and Tony Dunne moved to Ireland last August but returned to Essex after being unable to find jobs.

They are currently living in a trailer tent with their three Staffordshire bull terriers at a caravan park in Wickham St Paul, near Halstead.

Ms Jameson, formerly of Panfield Lane, Braintree, does not disagree with Braintree Council’s view that they made themselves intentionally homeless.

But she believes there should be more help available for families in their situation.

The Yellow Peril says...

More spongers trying to get what they think they're "entitled" to. What bit about leaving their Essex home and moving to Ireland was not making themselves homeless? Did they not have jobs to go to in Ireland? People expect the State to look after them the minute something goes wrong. Of course, it usually does look after those who have put nothing in and only know how to take.
