The draft plan sets out where future housing could be built
Residents can comment on plans for future housing, business parks and traveller pitches.
Braintree Council has published its Site Allocations and Development Management Policies Draft Plan, which earmarks land for future development and sets out policies that will be used to judge planning applications.
It includes keeping a route for the A131 Halstead bypass and earmarking land for specialist housing for the elderly, young or vulnerable adults, to the west of Mount Hill in Halstead.
The council aims to have created 14,000 jobs between 2001 and 2026.
Residents can have a say on the draft plan until February 22.
There is an exhibition today at Earls Colne Village Hall from 1.30pm to 6.30pm; January 23 at Great Yeldham Reading Rooms, 2.30pm – 7.30pm; January 28 - Queens Hall, Halstead, 2.30pm – 7.30pm; and January 31 - Sible Hedingham Baptist Church, 2.30pm – 7.30pm.
View it online at www.braintree.gov.uk/planning or at the council offices in Bocking End, Braintree.
