Halstead: Calls for 20mph speed limits renewed

Campaigners are hopeful Essex will follow the lead of other councils by introducing 20mph speed limits in built-up areas.
A national survey has revealed a third of local authorities have either introduced speed reductions or have plans to do so.
Calls have been made to reduce the 30mph limit in Fenn Road in Halstead, where residents have complained of speeding traffic and parked cars.
Essex County Council (ECC), which is responsible for the county’s roads, says it will have a “flexible” approach to public concerns.
