A village school is celebrating after going up a grade in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Earls Colne Primary School and Nursery was graded good overall, with some outstanding teaching, after inspectors visited earlier this month.

It is a step up from its previous satisfactory rating in 2010.

The inspection team, who visited 23 lessons taught by 12 teachers, said pupils make good progress as they grow up and all groups, including those with disabilities and special educational needs, make similar progress.
