A politician whose home was broken into nine times in two years is supporting a change in the law.

MP Brooks Newmark believes more thought should be given to victims than to burglars and the law should reflect this.

Burglars targeted his previous London home nine times in two years and his shed at his Bradwell home has also been broken into.

During one break-in his wife Lucy actually caught a burglar red-handed in their bedroom stealing jewellery.

She was so angry she forced the thief to empty his pockets and Mr Newmark believes it was knowing their children, who were then just toddlers, were at home which gave her the strength to tackle the burglar.
