Fallen trees during last night's strong winds left drivers having to find alternative routes in some areas of the district.
Essex Police had reports of 40 trees blocking or partially blocking roads across the county.
They included Panfield Road, Braintree, near Towerlands; the B1417 in Felsted; two near the viaduct at Chappel and one near Wash Farm in Hedingham Road, Sible Hedingham.
