Grantchester fans have said “everything is right in the world” now heartthrob James Norton is back on television as crime-solving vicar Sidney Chambers.

The ITV drama returned on Sunday night for a third series, kicking off with a spooky episode about a doctor being found dead in a church.

But while the mystery thrilled viewers, it was James himself who really had people gripped.

A scene in which Sidney is seen with a baby had one woman gushing: “James Norton holding a baby. Oh my ovaries.”

Several quipped that they would be rushing to church every Sunday if James was delivering the sermon.

The latest series will see Sidney torn between his love for the clergy and his blossoming relationship with his former flame Amanda (Morven Christie).

And viewers also have mixed feelings about whether they should be together.

Robson Green has also reprised his role as the second half of the investigative double act, Geordie Keating, in the 1950s-set series.
