Controversial star Katie Hopkins will get a tattoo live on her TV show, If Katie Hopkins Ruled the World – despite having previously slated people with tattoos.

But there’s a twist – and it comes with her choice of wording for the tattoo.

Just one of the discussions on her TLC panel show, the subject is fiercely debated by celebrity guests Kerry Katona and Calum Best.

Atomic Kitten singer Kerry insists the public should “think before you judge the ink”, which inspires Katie to get a tattoo and explore both sides of the argument.

During the show, TV personality Calum, who spent time with Katie in the Celebrity Big Brother house back in January, 2014 says: “I lived with her for a month and she kept going, ‘anyone with a tattoo can’t get a job’.”

Katie has voiced typically strong views on the subject, saying: “I think, as an employer, I certainly wouldn’t employ someone with tattoos. I’d worry what my customers would think of them. And socially I think we still look at tattoos as graffiti.”

On her show, an unrepentant Katie insists: “What I have always said is, if you’re going to make it easier for yourself, then don’t get a tattoo.”

Comedian Mark Dolan, the show’s moderator, asks what would happen if one of her own children returned home covered in tattoos. She retorts: “They wouldn’t be coming in my house.”

But in a surprising turn of events, Katie puts her money where her mouth is and gets a tattoo of her own – leaving her guests and her studio audience gobsmacked.

However, the former Apprentice star has the last word – “Don’t Get a Tattoo” is what she has tattooed on her back!

If Katie Hopkins Ruled The World airs on Thursday, September 3 at 10pm on TLC.
