Iggy Azalea has admitted she is disappointed to how her collaboration with Britney Spears performed in the charts, and blamed a lack of promotion.

Social media went into overdrive when Iggy and Britney were pictured shooting the 80s themed video for their duet Pretty Girls in Studio City, California in April and the pair performed it together at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards in May.

But the song only debuted at number 16 in UK’s Official Singles Chart, before dropping to number 55 the week after, and peaked at number 29 in Billboard Hot 100 in the US.

Iggy took to Twitter to express her resentment at the poor promotion of Pretty Girls in response to a fan who commented the track had “flopped a little bit” during a questions and answer session.

The 25-year-old Australian singer admitted she would have liked to perform the song a lot more.

Iggy revealed in May she had decided to cancel her delayed Great Escape US tour, later telling Seventeen magazine that she needed a break.

Iggy said: “I’ve had a different creative change of heart. I want to start totally anew, and if I stayed on my tour, that would mean I wouldn’t even be able to start working on that until after Christmas.

“On top of that, mentally, to be honest with you, I just feel I deserve a break. I’ve been going non-stop for the past two years, nearly every single day.”
