Two top shows are being performed in the district this week.

A Night of Dirty Dancing: The Ultimate Tribute Show is being performed on March 26 at Braintree Arts Theatre at 7.30pm.

Fans are invited to take a trip back to the summer of ’63, to relive Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey’s sizzling performance in the ultimate coming of age romance.

The all-new, spectacular stage show features all the hits from the film, including She’s Like the Wind, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Hey Baby, Wipeout, Do You Love Me, Be My Baby, Hungry Eyes and the Oscar-winning (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life.

“Celebrated film Dirty Dancing boasted the greatest movie soundtrack of all time,” said show producer Michael Taylor.

“All these hits are superbly performed in this fast-moving, slickly-choreographed theatrical treat.

“Revel in the moments you loved, the memories you made and the music that’s resonated throughout the years.”

The film defines the 1980s - it was the first film to sell 1 million videos, it produced a number one single and achieved album sales of 42 million worldwide.

“Prepare for a night of dirty dancing with the brand-new sensational, inspirational, ‘aspirational’ box office smash of the year,” added Michael.

“Our sensational production brings all the hits to life, lavishly, live on stage.”

Tickets are £19 for adults, or £16 for children, from 01376 556 354 or braintreeartstheatre.com
