It’ll be an ace show


SWING sensation, the Jive Aces, make their debut appearance at Churchill’s Cafe Bar on Sunday.

Fronted by Thurrock-born double bass player Ken Smith, the six-piece band bring their high-energy stage show to the Southend venue.

The band formed in 1989 and have been playing all over the world with their own tunes and covers of classics by Louis Jordan, Cab Calloway and Count Basie.

They have impressed audiences at several renowned venues, such as the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Apollo Theatre in New York and the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.

With their screaming horns, slapping bass and infectious rhythms, expect no less at in Churchill’s, in Tylers Avenue, from noon to 5pm.

Tickets are £5 for members and £6 for non-members.
