Leigh Art Trail
By innovatively mixing artists’ studios and homes with local shops, bars, church and library gardens as venues, visitors to Leigh Art Trail can devise their own combination of cultural, shopping and sightseeing activities. The event is free to visit and it provides art lovers with an opportunity to buy original artwork at affordable prices and to meet the artists. On the first Saturday of the art trail, 16 June, an interesting series of events are on offer to compliment the week-long exhibitions. In the Library Gardens, first year Fine Art students, Chrissy Cochrane and Ruth Hazel will make a performance under the name of Generic Head. Look on the rooftop of Ruby Rooms and you will find a Zeppelin by Nastassja Simensky and in St. Clements Church, the tudor porch will be transformed into a camera obscura by artist Alan Hockett. Lola Swain will be demonstrating hand building clay pots on 16,17 and 23 June, Polar House, Rectory Grove. The trail continues, various venues 16 to 23 June
