Essex: Met Office issue yellow weather warning

A WEATHER warning has been issued urging residents and motorists to "be aware" of heavy rainfall.

The Met Office issued a yellow warning, its lowest level, this morning after heavy downpours swept across the East of England.

Motorists should take caution as heavy spray and surface water make driving conditions treacherous, and outdoor activities could be affected.

Further showery outbreaks of heavy and sometimes thundery rain are expected for the rest of the day.

"Yellow" weather? Is this the radioactive snow and rain the nuclear protagonists were warning us about a few years ago?
