The University of Exeter has been ranked among the top 15 institutions in the UK as part of the 2025 league tables.

Complete University Guide has released its 2025 league tables for the UK, Scotland, Wales and London, with Exeter ranking highly in the UK list.

Discussing the list, the publication wrote: "Our league tables rank the best universities in the UK, overall and in 74 subject areas.

"Knowing how best to choose your future university can be tough. Our league tables can help by showing you the top universities in the UK and allowing you to sort them by what's important to you."

How did the University of Exeter rank?

The University of Exeter ranked in 14th place in the Complete University Guide table, which was up one place from last year, with an overall score of 80%. 

Additionally, it scored 77% for entry standards, 77% for student satisfaction, 84% for research quality and 85% for graduate prospects.

The University of Exeter is a Russell Group university "that combines world-class research with high levels of student satisfaction", the Russell Group website says.

Additionally, it was awarded a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) assessment which means it was recognised as consistently providing outstanding teaching, learning and student outcomes.

In response to the ranking, the University of Exeter shared on social media: "Today we're really pleased to learn that we've been ranked in 14th place – up one position - in the Complete University Guide’s league table 2025. We've also been ranked 2nd in the South West.

"The CUG also reveals that, nationally, nearly 80% of graduates have successfully transitioned into graduate-level or professional roles, or are pursuing postgraduate education – underlining the exceptional calibre of education provided by UK universities."
